My birthday

Wednesday, January 26th, 2005

Happy birthday to me. I be 22. Hmm this getting older stuff is starting to suck. Once you hit 21 it’s all down hill :)

PsoC on the way

Getting me a PsoC development kit for my birthday. Accelerometer + LCD = Ghetto version of Gtech on the way.

P&E = sucks

Wednesday, January 19th, 2005

Hmm… Wonder if P&E responds to email or if they are routed to /dev/null ? :) Looking at getting a PsoC dev kit. Assemblers and stuff are free and the dev kit is pretty cheap. Picked up a 2 axis accelerometer today. Might build a simple G-G read out on the development board and see what everyone’s cars can pull. Cool chip too bad there is no built in ALU. Math functionality ought to be fun fun fun!

A new computer at last…

Finally got my new 64 bit AMD system up and running. Sisoft reports 5GB/s RAM bandwidth. Remarkable improvement from my old 32 bit AMD 1700 w/ PC 2100 memory. Only thing I don’t like is that the normal AMD heatsink/fan combo has a lot of whine in it. Might have to look into getting a better replacement. Saw one of those clear cases while I was at the mall yesterday again. I thought the new machine might look decent in one of those completely clear cases. Put some new videos up in the videos section obviously as well as a flash game.

Mwave = a bad company

Wednesday, January 12th, 2005

hmmm…after 2 1/2 weeks of communicating with Mwave they still have made 0 progress with my replacement. wrote them a lengthy email detailing my intention to purchase memory elsewhere and get a full refund from them for there mistake. wonder if i will get charged a restocking fee for the ram they never touched to ship me or the one thats not the size i ordered. ordered some corsair memory from newegg and look forward to doing all future business through them.

Code Edit Pro release

Tuesday, January 11th, 2005

Added a very early release of code edit pro on the site. The search through files section is totaly incomplete but is just a concept version. Feel free to download and look through. It is geared toward writing assembly for the HCS12 though it supports C and can be used for any C project.

Assembly line success rate = 100%? I don’t think so…Testing? What am I paying for?

Well after ordering several huge purchases from online dealer www.mwave.com I think I will stop doing business with them. Recently I made a purchase from them where they messed up my order. Apparently if you order memory from them and they give you half the size sticks you ordered it is 100% OK with them to not refund or attempt to remedy the problem. I am more than willing to photograph my motherboard/cpu/memory combo that I recieved or show them a picture of my machine booting or running windows reporting that the memory installed is half of what I had ordered. Regardless of the sticker on the memory from them that dictates 256MB that I am more than willing to photograph and return. Apparently it is more likely that I ordered a seperate stick of 256MB just to deal with this and get a 512 stick at that price rather than joe blow computer assembly worker grabbed the wrong stick of memory from there inventory when assembling my combo. That couldn’t happen could it?
