GT4 Online Checklist

The following assumes you have some PC/Networking knowledge



Hosts

1.Download and install X-Link KAI

2.This step may not be necessary but may yield better results. - Run KAI config and setup port 30,000 as your main port. Not the Deep port. Setup your router to forward the port along to the PC that is running KAI.

3.Start KAI, create an XTag account if you dont have one.

4.Go to arena mode and create a private arena

5.In go to your options screen select that you want to host and setup max players as 2 (unless you enjoy lag), set Network traffic to light and leave monitors at 0.

5.Back in KAI kick people from your arena who have bad pings. if there ping is greather than 150ms you will have a crappy game. you want at least a 50ms ping or better

6.Have the client connect to his waiting for connection screen. (WFC for short)

7.You do the same (go to your WFC screen).

8.Cross your fingers. If all is well go pick your tracks and cars and have fun racing!



Clients

5.Make sure your pings look good. if there ping is greather than 150ms you will have a crappy game. you want at least a 50ms ping or better

6.Wait for your host to tell you to go to your Waiting for connection screen (WFC for short)

7.Cross your fingers. If all is well go pick your tracks and cars and have fun racing!
