Windows XP 64 Bit Edition

According to a somewhat reliable source of mine Microsoft has just begun shipping Windows XP 64 Bit Edition. They are claiming that around 16,000 drivers are supported already though they say some older components will not get updated. As far as I am concerned if you own a 64 bit system chances are that you have few if any older components in that system so that really should not cause any problems. I wonder when I will be able to order a copy. Microsoft is supposed to be shipping to the larger OEMs first and if you have a copy of the 32 bit XP right now you can get a trade in for the new 64 bit edition. Microsoft also is claiming the pricing will be exactly the same for the 64 bit edition which really is not that big of a suprise but it may mean that if you do a trade in for XP 64 bit it will be free. No word on whether or not the trade in will be free but I am sure other news sources will be covering this very soon.
