BF2 (Battle Field 2)
BF2 is probably the best FPS I have played in a long time. After I was pretty excited by the single player demo map I went to play online to find out there was an extra map in the demo for network/online play! This game seriously owns almost every FPS to date. The combat is intense and there is more strategy with Squads and Commanders now (though the strategy doesn’t interfere much with actual gameplay). It seems like this game will be far superior to its predecessor BF1942. I was a big fan of 1942 especially when the Desert Combat mod was applied. I only have one gripe about BF2 at this point. They need to change or at least offer a method to control the helicopters the way you were able to fly them in BF1942:Desert Combat. That was seriously the most realistic simulation I have seen. The control scheme for BF2 helicopters is completely horrid. I guess spending all that time learning how to fly the choppers like a champ in Desert Combat (which required lots of practice but had a big pay off!) is wasted on this game. Please EA - as it is probably way too late in the game to change the initial production release (which I am planning on buying and enjoying immensly) allow for more in depth control of the choppers!
