Farewell, John. Until we meet again

Mr. John Ballenger personified the principles of Scouting. I am proud to have camped with him and to call him my friend. He had a great influence on me and the boys we led together.

YIS,

My condolences go out to the Ballenger family. James, Chip, and Mrs. Ballenger my prayers are with you. Mr. Ballenger defined respectability. I will always remember him as a gentleman camper who taught me how to coexist with nature by creating a comfortable environment. He will be remembered fondly whenever I think of Troop 654.

Wow, I see the word is starting to spread. It makes me happy to see the kind words everyone is expressing about Mr. Ballenger. There is no question that everyone who knew him thought very highly of him. He will be greatly missed.
