Loss

Wednesday, October 5th, 2005

I am saddened tonight to find out about the loss of one of the greatest men I knew growing up. John Ballenger, the father of two of my best friends, passed away yesterday morning after a valiant struggle with Mesothelioma. If you are friends with the Ballengers, I am sure they would appreciate your support in this trying time. Below is information about the memorial service this weekend.

Tuesday, October 4th, 2005

Posted to Bungie.net today was the statement that Halo, the movie is in the works with producers from Universal. The team that will create Halo, the movie; will be the same team that created King Kong. Excuse me while I go pick up my jaw.

9/11/05

Sunday, September 11th, 2005

Four years later and it still seems like yesterday. MSNBC has posted an interactive “Moment By Moment” presentation of the events surrounding September 11th. It is interesting as you can follow the chain of events that transpired from the morning of the 11th until the 14th. You can view the presentation by following this link and clicking on the presentation on the right side.

I saw a great car show yesterday and posted some pictures of it in the gallery. There was a Shelby GT500 Mustang in immaculate condition, a Lamborghini Countach and a lot of older hot rods that showed up.

New Pics

Thursday, September 8th, 2005

I have probably put upwards of 130 pictures in my gallery over the last few days. I am really starting to love Simple PHP Gallery. Granted it doesn’t have all the features of the normal Gallery package but it does one thing better than any other gallery package I have seen. Be simple.

They include more wedding photos, shots of the Ferrari FXX, new pictures of my rabbit and 2 shots of a dog one of my neighbors just bought. Have a look.

Racing News

Wednesday, August 17th, 2005

Haven’t had much time to work on jx90.com lately. I bought another domain the day the google RSS went public and created a racing news site later that day. Unfortunately me and several other people have noticed quite a few problems with the RSS and Atom feeds google has supplied so I hope they update them eventually. A few minutes browsing raceslick.com and I am sure you will notice some funky characters here and there. I also revisited my old atomic clock program and made some modifications to it to make it more user friendly. You can now make it startup when the computer starts and have the software attempt to synchronize your clock when it starts. Useful for keeping the computer up to date or synchronizing a network. I will provide a link to the updated copy soon.

Happy 4th of July

Monday, July 4th, 2005

Happy 4th of July to all Americans! Hope everyone goes to see great fireworks displays tonight. I have been busy playing lots of the great games that have come out lately such as Battlefield 2, Forza Motorsports and most recently Live For Speed S2. I just made an update to the videos section. It is a 4 minute video with a bunch of clips of Senna and Prost neck and neck trying to overtake each other. Check it out here.

Archive Added

Saturday, June 25th, 2005

From now on only my 30 most recent posts will show up on the main page. The rest will be added to an archive where you can view all the posts in a specific month. This will help cut down the loading time on lower bandwidth connections and will reduce my overall bandwidth usesage and processing.

PWSave.com

Thursday, May 26th, 2005

I have created a new site to offer anyone on the internet the service of keeping track of passwords. I will probably release the code or even allow anonymous FTP access so people can view the code to make sure there is no shadiness going on behind the scenes. I am using what I consider an irreversible way to store encrypted data in a database without the users interaction. Visit the link on the left labeled pwsave to learn more about it and give it a test drive. I think it is a great tool to save passwords to things you use somewhat frequently such as web forums or blogs.

The gallery is up. Wallpaper anyone?

Tuesday, May 24th, 2005

I just started on a gallery of wedding pictures I took with my new 5 megapixel camera on 5MP mode standard quality (not the higher 5MP mode which yeilds pictures 3-4x the size!). These pictures can be used as desktop wall papers easily. I use two LCDs in 1280×1024 and they more than span the dimension required to fill both screen with the wall paper with out any strectching. I just recomend centering it across both monitors. I am presently using the bird I shot in flight in the everglades. Have fun browsing the pictures!

Google Fooling Around With Updates

Monday, May 23rd, 2005

It seems our friend google is messing around with updates again. I have seen pagerank and backlink counts from months previous and new values as well as the current values floating around.
