On /. just saw a post about AOL and Google joining via Google buying $1billion into AOL. Why do I have this feeling that AOL will mess up Google… or will Google just take over AOL and be some kick ass ISP and finally drive the price down with MAYBE some decent software? Google Talk kicks AIM’s ass as far as I’m concerned, and should be replaced accordingly… but hey, that’s just me.

Has anyone noticed the lightning fast DNS propagation as of late? It took literally less than 15 minutes for my ISP to pick up on the new IP.

Server is in the process of moving. Downtime should be expected but it may not occur at all if all goes smoothly. More RAM, faster CPU and more space are in the works.
The next installment for AOL’s Instant Messaging program (AIM) was released over the weekend for beta testing. AIM Triton was first leaked about 8 months ago on the boards, but the program was still under heavy modification by AOL. Now that the file has been released to the masses via AOL banner ads, AIM.com’s beta section, etc.. It’s going to be interesting to see how they improved the video interface that once bogged down 2 year old graphics cards, that normally stood their ground in intense gaming.

The great but not quite free web browser is now completely free! To celebrate 10 years as a competing alternative browser Opera is now giving away their software for free. No ads, nag screens, licensing fees, etc. I wonder if this will have any effect on Firefox as the leading alternative browser. (As a side note I am using the new version of Opera to post this.)
The new sitemap is working great. WordPress sure has made managing this site easier. I enjoy writing custom php sites but for this site I’d like to keep it easy to manage. Make sure to check out the redone videos section that is now part of this theme.
Found a cool plugin to generate sitemaps for wordpress based sites. Gonna try it out. Will post my results later.
Converted the site to word press. After an hour or two of debuging the DB conversions, playing around with magic quotes, and studying the tables of WP it finally works. Thank god.
